About Sandbur Station

Sandbur Station (humorously named after the tiny sticker burs that grow here in the late summer) was built of trees harvested from the very spot the Station sits on, and combines the seclusion of a state park with the convenience of a small town. It is themed in the rustic railroad towns of the early west, and capitalizes on its secluded location bordering the Governor Knowles State Forest. The area is located along the St. Croix River Valley near the mouth of the Trade River, and the town of Wolf Creek. Sandbur Station is also at the south eastern entrance to the wilderness area known as the Polk County Barrens. The area surrounding Sandbur Station is a wilderness play area with sightseeing, wildlife, horseback riding, canoeing, boating, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, hiking and much more.

The venue is designed to make it easy to throw a party and add your own touch. Most of our events offer three day occupancy, allowing you to decorate and prepare ahead of time, enjoy your event and have the next day to take your time getting moved out. You are free to choose your own caterers, DJ's, and any other services you may require for your event.

Whether your looking to host a once in a lifetime milestone with friends and family or doing a training seminar for a large group, why rent a room when you can have the whole town!

Weddings, retirements, outdoor events, Sandbur station will take you to a different time and leave you with a smile. Your occasion, your day. Enjoy adding your own style, relax and make memories in a setting as unique as your day and the people you share it with.
